Beginning with prayer before taking our next step

Before we talk about plans, provision, or possibilities, we begin with prayer. Prayer is not a formality for us, it is the foundation. Throughout our church’s story, God has consistently guided us as we’ve sought Him together, and we believe that will continue to be true in this next season.

The “pray phase” for The Next Corners is about posture. It is about slowing down, listening, and aligning our hearts with God before asking Him to open doors. Rather than rushing toward answers, we want to be a church that first asks, “Lord, what are You doing, and how are You leading us?”

Phase 1: PRAY

What This Phase Is About

Phase 1 is a season of intentional, united prayer as we seek wisdom and clarity about what God may have next for our church, particularly regarding our long-term location and ministry sustainability.

This is a time to:

  • Ask God for wisdom, not just solutions

  • Seek unity, patience, and humility

  • Listen for God’s leading rather than forcing outcomes

  • Remember God’s faithfulness in our past as we trust Him with the future

We believe God often clarifies direction as His people pray together over time.

What This Phase Is Not

Phase 1 is not about:

  • Rushing toward decisions

  • Announcing a finalized plan

  • Launching a fundraising effort

  • Creating pressure or urgency

Prayer is not the step before the real work. Prayer is the work.

How You Can Participate

Everyone in our church family has a role in this phase.

You can participate by:

  • Praying regularly for wisdom, unity, and discernment

  • Asking God to shape your own heart as He shapes our future

  • Engaging in corporate prayer moments when offered

  • Staying informed and attentive as we walk through this season together
